It was a “moderate” practice, but it was still an encouraging update for Boston.

In his first season as a Celtic, Kristaps Porzingis averaged 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds.

Kristaps Porzingis participated fully at practice Saturday, per Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla.

The Celtics center, who has been out since Game 4 of the first round with a soleus strain, was active in Boston’s “moderate” practice.

“He went through everything that the team did today,” Mazzulla told reporters.

Mazzulla clarified that Sunday’s practice will be much more intense. He didn’t specify whether Porzingis would participate fully in that practice.

Mazzulla said he’s enjoyed spending time with Porzingis during the playoffs. He said Porzingis has “been through so much” in the NBA that he consistently has the same poise and temperament about him.

Mazzulla called his disposition and experience a “gift” for the team this year.

“His highs don’t get too high, his lows don’t get too low,” Mazzulla told reporters. “He has great perspective, great understanding, great experiences.”
