The Israel-Lebanon war has turned to a new phase, as Israel continues to bombard Southern Lebanon. IDF conducted another round of extensive strikes on over 300 targets of Iranian-backed Hezbollah on Sept 23.
Israeli Military Spox Daniel Hagari called on residents of south Lebanon to keep away from Hezbollah posts. Strikes constituted the most geographically widespread bombing that Israel has carried out since the war. As per Lebanon’s claims, the Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 100 people, and citizens have been told to evacuate.
The attacks came amid some of the heaviest cross-border exchanges of fire in nearly a year of conflict. Residents of southern Lebanon packed their belongings, fleeing the coastal city amid intense Israeli bombardment. Notably, at least 12 people died and nearly 3,000 were injured after a series of pagers exploded in parts of Southern Lebanon. Hezbollah promised to retaliate against Israel, accusing it of exploding the devices.
The two sides have been engaged in cross-border hostilities since the break out of Gaza conflict last October.
