Tickets on sale now for the Atlanta Opera’s ‘Rent’ and ‘La bohème’

Single tickets are now on sale now for the Atlanta Opera’s upcoming productions of Jonathan Larson’s Rent and Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème, set to captivate audiences this September at Pullman Yards.

“We are incredibly excited to bring these bold and risky new productions to the stage,” said Tomer Zvulun, Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. General and Artistic Director of The Atlanta Opera. “This is the first time an opera company has performed Rent. And even though Rent is directly inspired by Boheme, this is the first time these two works have been paired in performance. Audiences will be immersed in the music and action as the performances happen all around them. We cannot wait to share these powerful stories with the Atlanta community.”

The Atlanta Opera will be featuring the groundbreaking rock musical Rent, which transformed Broadway and continues to inspire audiences worldwide, paired with a modern take on Puccini’s timeless classic La bohème to create vivid, thrilling, and memorable experiences for fans and newcomers alike.

Directed by Tomer Zvulun and Vita Tzykun, and featuring world-class performers, productions of  Rent and La bohème have never before been paired in performance even though Jonathan Larson mirrored Puccini’s opera when creating Rent.

Rent journies through the lives of a group of bohemian artists in New York City’s East Village, grappling with love, friendship, and the challenges of living with HIV/AIDS. With its electrifying score and deeply moving narrative, Rent remains as relevant and powerful today as it was upon its debut.

Meanwhile, an all-new production of La bohème transports audiences to the eerily deserted streets of 21st-century Brooklyn during the COVID-19 lockdown, where young love blossoms despite a worldwide health crisis and the struggles of impoverished artists. Puccini’s lush melodies and the opera’s heartrending story, have made it a staple of the operatic repertoire for over a century.

Tickets start at $30 with VIP 4-top tables at $1000, Rent tickets are available for purchase at tickets.atlantaopera.org/140062 and La bohème tickets are available at tickets.atlantaopera.org/139873.
