Southern Lebanese town Khiam targeted by Israel as conflict with Hezbollah intensifies

On September 28, Israel carried out strikes on the southern Lebanese border town of Khiam, located southeast of Beirut.

A large explosion resulted in significant damage to a building in the area, as Israel continued its military operations across Lebanon, including in the capital. According to a statement from the Israeli army on Saturday, efforts to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure and capabilities remain ongoing.

The Hezbollah group, backed by Iran, confirmed the death of its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, after the Israeli military reported his elimination in an airstrike in Beirut the previous day.

In response, Hezbollah vowed to continue its fight against Israel, pledging support for Gaza and Palestine, while defending Lebanon and its people.
