The Patriots made changes to their practice squad Tuesday, signing offensive tackle Caleb Jones and releasing outside linebacker Brevin Allen.
Jones, 25, is a mountain of a man at 6-foot-9, 370 pounds. He went undrafted out of Indiana in 2022 and has spent the last two seasons with the Packers, appearing in one game.
Allen was signed by the Patriots on Aug. 29 and had a short stay on the practice squad before Tuesday’s release.
Jones is the only offensive tackle on the Patriots’ practice squad. The team has Demontrey Jacobs, Vederian Lowe, Chukwuma Okorafor, Mike Onwenu and Caedan Wallace on the 53-man roster at tackle.
Allen’s release leaves the Patriots with edge defenders Ochaun Mathis and Jotham Russell on the practice squad. The team also has Keion White, Deatrich Wise, Anfernee Jennings, Joshua Uche and Oshane Ximines on the 53-man roster.
Jones, Russell and Mathis are joined on the practice squad by running backs Kevin Harris and Terrell Jennings, wide receivers Matt Landers and Jalen Reagor, tight end Mitchell Wilcox guards Jerome Carvin, Michael Jordan and Liam Fornadel, center Bryan Hudson, defensive tackle Trysten Hill, linebackers Joe Giles-Harris and Yvandy Rigby, cornerback Isaiah Bolden and safety A.J. Thomas.
