Ogden’s Taboo Pizza to open second location on Washington Blvd.

Taboo Pizza plans to open its new shop in October.

(Jeremy Holmes) A former Slackwater location near the Ogden River will become a new Taboo Pizza in October.

A new pizza place is coming to the old Slackwater location on the Ogden River Parkway in October.

Taboo Pizza — which opened in 2019 at 3017 Harrison Blvd. in Ogden — posted on Instagram Wednesday that owners Jennifer and Jeremy Holmes had signed a 35-year commitment to open their second location at 1895 Washington Blvd., right next to the Ogden River.

Jeremy Holmes said Thursday that the new location would be slightly different from their first location, in that it would be a full-service, sit-down restaurant with a full bar, waitstaff and room for 175 diners. Their first shop, on Harrison, has 45 dine-in seats but is mostly takeout.

“We want to thank everyone who have been such a tremendous support to our shop,” the Instagram post read. “We were tempted to open our second location further away but opted to expand in O-Town first.”

The space on Washington Boulevard has been vacant ever since Slackwater moved to 24th Street in 2021.

Taboo Pizza serves a variety of unique pizzas, like the OMG! (Ogden Meatball Grinder) and the Totally Taboo, which features pepperoni, sliced hot sausage and veggies. It also serves “totally baked” pastas, wings, salads and “dough bois” stuffed with various toppings.

“It feels amazing that we’ve been able, in five years, to get to a point where we’re at capacity in our current location and able to expand and bring the second location into a favorite dining spot in Ogden,” Holmes said.
