The use of Lime’s electric scooters and bikes continued to surge in April, with the micromobility company reporting a record-breaking 210,657 rides.
The total from this past April marked a substantial 61% increase from the ridership in April 2024, a trend that Lime attributes to “Atlantans’ enthusiasm for choosing sustainable transportation.”
So far this year, Atlantans have reportedly taken over 594,000 trips on Lime’s electric fleet, including 527,303 riding e-scooters and 67,124 using e-bikes.
Lime says that e-bikes in particular have experienced a massive rise in the city, with ridership increasing by 105% year-over-year.
“Micromobility is becoming a core part of how Atlanta moves,” said Carol Antúnez, senior manager of Government Relations at Lime. “We’re seeing strong, sustained momentum across the board, and we’re proud to partner with the City of Atlanta to expand access to safe and sustainable transportation.”
During its record-breaking April, Lime held an Earth Day promotion in Atlanta, in which the company offered a 50% discount on rides beginning near five of the city’s busiest MARTA stations.
Additionally, on April 27, Lime also helped support the return of Atlanta Streets Alive, which opens the streets to cycle, walk, skate, and play without the risk of traffic.
During the event, Lime handed out free helmets, provided e-scooter/e-bike demos and sponsored a “Bike Valet” that made attending the event without a vehicle easier.
Lime says that it plans on returning for this month’s iteration of Atlanta Streets Alive, slated to take place on May 18.
“We’re deeply grateful to our partners at the city and the community for their collaboration in building a more accessible, equitable and vibrant city,” said Antúnez.
