Pennsylvania (USA): Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a visit to a McDonald’s in Philadelphia on October 20, where he tried his hand at working the french fry station and drive-thru window. During his visit, the former president joked with the owner of a Bucks County McDonald’s, saying he was “looking for a job” and had always been curious about working at the fast-food chain.
Trump removed his suit jacket, donned a black and yellow apron, and began cooking batches of french fries. With cameras capturing the moment, he dipped wire baskets filled with potatoes into hot oil, salted them, and handed them out to customers at the drive-thru. The event drew a crowd, with thousands of spectators gathering across the street to watch.
Known for his love of fast food, Trump remarked, “This is fun, I could do this all day.” He added that his McDonald’s visit was partly meant as a dig at Vice President Kamala Harris, who has claimed she worked at the fast food chain during her college years. Trump has challenged that claim, saying Harris never worked there, though he has not provided any evidence to support this. While campaigning in Georgia, Harris responded to the stunt, telling Reuters it was a sign of Trump’s desperation.
