France: Long queues outside filling stations in Paris amid refineries strike

Dozens of cars queued for petrol ahead of filling stations in the 17th district of Paris on Friday, as striking fuel refineries workers have worsened the energy crisis.

Hundreds of cars could be seen crowded onto motorway lanes to fill tanks ahead of various petrol stations in the city. Some drivers, especially scooter riders, were also filling canisters for storage.

“I do not know very well how we are going to get out of this situation, one of the queuing drivers said.

With workers’ strikes continuing at TotalEnergies and Esso-ExxonMobil, fuel shortages have hit gas stations across France, causing frustration and long waits for motorists.
