Cheer on the Birds in Brazilian Portuguese

The Eagles take on the Packers in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday night, in the NFL’s first-ever game in South America.

As everyone should when they visit a new place, the team has already started taking in some Brazilian culture (which you can do, too, this weekend at Brazilian Day Philadelphia) and gotten a crash course in some Brazilian Portuguese.

For everyone else watching the game in Philly who hasn’t been keeping up with their Duolingo (Duo’s very angry), we asked Claudia Lyra Giannecchini, with the Brazilian Portuguese and Arts Program in San Diego, to translate this list of Eagles- and football-specific phrases you might say during the game, along with how to pronounce them. And no, we didn’t ask for curse words.

“Vai Pássaro” (“Go Eagles”)
