After targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel strikes power plants & sea ports of Houthis in Yemen

Yemen,MadeinPolitics: While continuing to attack Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel launched a wave of airstrikes at Houthi targets in Yemen on September 29. Expanding its assault on Iran-backed proxies across the Middle East, the IDF has recently heightened its pace of attack.

IDF said that they targeted power plants and a seaport belonging to the Houthi which were used to transfer weapons in the region. Earlier on multiple occasions, Houthis have fired missiles at Israeli targets in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and Hamas war against Israel.

Houthis of Yemen have been known for targeting international shipping in the Red Sea which has undermined regional stability and free and open shipping lanes. The recent strikes in Yemen come after the wave of attacks in Lebanon killed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, in Beirut. The assassination of Nasrallah and the latest rising heat in the Middle East have led to speculations of spinning of violence in all of the region.

The Israeli military had been carrying out a “precise strike” on Hezbollah during which its headquarters was targeted in Beirut. Meanwhile, the US has urged for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in Lebanon, and US Defense Sec. has stressed to avoid “an all-out war”. Hezbollah, Houthi, and Israel have been trading fire across the borders since the start of the war in Gaza, on Oct 07 last year.
