7News sources: Man stabbed inside Mass General Hospital building, 1 in custody – Boston News, Weather, Sports


BOSTON (WHDH) – Police are investigating a stabbing that took place at Mass General Hospital Thursday morning, according to 7News sources.

The incident happened in the vestibule of the Jackson Building on Blossom Street, sources said.

Two men were said to be involved; one man was taken into police custody and the other was treated and released.

“Earlier this morning, Boston Police and MGH Police and Security responded to an assault involving a patient in one of the hospital’s lobbies. The individual was treated for minor injuries and released,” Mass General Hospital said in a statement.

“The hospital is safe, open, and operating normally. We are grateful to our staff and Boston Police for their quick response in bringing this incident to a close,” the hospital continued.
