New Delhi. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given a big statement regarding the post of National President of Congress in a meeting with the Legislature Party. In the meeting, CM Gehlot told the MLAs that it would be his last effort that Rahul Gandhi agrees to become the president, if he does not agree, then the decision of the party will be paramount. Ashok Gehlot said that I can also be the Chief Minister along with the party president. Gehlot told the MLAs that tomorrow I am going to Delhi, then from there I will go to Kochi. During this, CM Gehlot also said that wherever I live, I will not stay away from you.

Let the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot Ahead of his scheduled visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, he had called a meeting of party MLAs here on Tuesday night. The meeting of the MLAs was called at 10 pm at the Chief Minister’s residence. This meeting was held after the dinner organized for Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Chief Minister’s residence. There is speculation in the party that Gehlot may contest for the party president’s post. Let us tell you that if Ashok Gehlot contests for the post of Congress President, then the biggest challenge before the party will be to choose the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. It is believed that if Gehlot becomes the Congress chief, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot can be made the Chief Minister of the state in his place.

However, according to sources, Gehlot is not ready to hand over the reins to his main rival within the party. The notification for the election of Congress President will be issued on September 22 and the process of filing nomination papers will continue from September 24 to 30. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 8. In case of more than one candidate, voting will be held on October 17 and results will be declared on October 19.
